Google rolls out Black Friday Play Store deals: get up to 80% off games, movies and more

Black Friday 2017 is here in just two days time and the deals are already flooding in. Today, Google has launched its Play Store Black Friday sale where you can find deep discounts on games, movies, books, comics, and more.

First up, a selection of “premium” games have seen an 80% discount including survival game Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition, minimalist strategy title Mini Metro, and the arcade runner Chameleon Run (I’m a big fan of the last two titles but I’d say Mini Metro is a steal at $0.99 — it’s lovely). It’s a strong roundup of games in general, though the selection available will differ depending on the market; same goes for the other digital products available.

As for movies, select titles have been discounted by as much as 50%, while Google also offers deep discounts on TV shows like Steven Universe and Homeland. Movie rentals are also down to $0.99 — one of Google’s favorite offers — but this may be dependent on whether you’ve rented a movie previously (sometimes Google’s Play Store deals apply to first-time users only).

If it’s E-books you’re into, Google will give you $5 credit on any purchase over $5, and, finally, there’s a return of the Google Play Music subscription offer which includes four months free.

You’re likely to find other interesting offers in the depths of Google Play, so head over there now to check out what’s going on, and visit our Black Friday 2017 hub page for all your hardware needs.
