Report: Samsung Galaxy S9 to launch February 27, 2018
- The rumored Samsung Galaxy S9 is said to be launching February 27, on the second day of MWC 2018
- Despite the speculation, a launch during the first press day on Sunday, February 25, seems more plausible
- The device is also expected to go on sale in March 2018
Rumors surrounding Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S9, are heating up. Yesterday, we got a look at what might be the final design via a CAD render video, and today we might have learned its launch date.
In a report from Korean news site The Bell (via Ausdroid) it was suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S9 would launch on February 27, 2018. This would coincide with Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, which begins Monday, February 26 for the public, though press events are typically held from the day before; if Samsung is going to launch the new phone at MWC, it seems more likely that it would appear Sunday, February 25.
Regardless, Samsung has shown off several of its Galaxy S smartphones at MWC in the past (despite launching the Galaxy S8 a little after MWC this year), so there’s every chance the S9 could be there next year. What’s more, The Bell suggests that it would go on sale next March instead of during April like the S8 and S8 Plus did earlier this year.
