The newest Moto Mod puts a printer on the back of your phone
If you’re looking to take your photo game to the next level, the newest Moto Mod might be right up your alley. Motorola and Polaroid are teaming up to introduce the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer. The Moto Mod will allow you to take a picture and immediately print it right from your phone.
The technology is a little more advanced here. The mod uses ZINK paper and promises 2 x 3-inch smudge-proof pictures. ZINK paper uses no ink and uses a thermal process to press pictures onto paper in a single press. It’s also water and tear resistant and has a sticky back so you can immediately stick it on a surface.
The mod attaches to the rear of your Moto Z device and features a dedicated camera button. You can use it for more than just printing pictures from your camera, too. If you spy a picture you’d like to print from Facebook, Instagram, or Google Photos, you can print those off as well. To give your pictures some more flair, you can customize them with filters, borders, or text before you print them out.
The biggest question remaining is how much you’d be willing to pay for the ability to print 2 x 3-inch pictures right from your phone. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer will run you a cool $200. That seems pretty expensive to us when you can easily share your pictures with your friends on Facebook or Instagram. Or, you could just buy the standalone Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer for half the cost.
