Instead of Withdrawing from the Race After Sexual Assault Allegation, Roy Moore Wants to Sue the Washington Post

His wife told a right-wing journalist of the plan.

Kayla Moore, Alabama Senate nominee Roy Moore's wife, told right-wing journalist Steve Deace of CRTV that the couple plans to sue the Washington Post for alleged defamation.

The Washington Post broke the story that Moore is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old when he was 32 years old.

"Judge Moore's wife, Kayla, informed me today they used the word 'defamation' in their statement for a reason -- they intend to pursue legal action against the Washington Post," Deace wrote in a giant tweetstorm about the allegations.

Moore had previously released a statement about the allegations that read in part, "This garbage is the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation."

The Washington Post report cites multiple sources who corroborate the account as being relayed to them at the time. Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona has publically called on Moore to exit the race.
