Charles Tyrwhitt's InstagramWhen it comes to buying quality dress shirts, finding ones that fit your body well is key. Dress shirts are usually measured by neck size and sleeve length, but sticking to just those two parameters can often leave you with an ill-fitting shirt, especially if you're of a slimmer build.
Charles Tyrwhitt has earned a reputation as one of Wall Street's favorite clothing companies and there's no questions as to why. The London-based menswear brand has essentially mastered the art of making quality dress shirts that fit well, and they're having a sale that lets you get four of their business casual button-down shirts for $199 instead of $110 each.
As a slim guy myself, finding the perfect dress shirt wasn't always an easy task. Many stores start with bigger sizes or their slim options are few and far between. So, when found out about Charles Tyrwhitt, I had to give their shirts a try, and I couldn't be more pleased.
The website is easy to navigate, and you can choose to add chest pockets, embroidery, or french cuffs suitable for cufflinks. For my first purchase, I got four extra-slim shirts — two Egyptian cotton diamond texture and two cutaway collar non-iron shirts.
The Egyptian cotton feels super soft and the diamond texture is a subtle yet noticeable detail, making it perfect for clean and simple look with just a bit of added flare. When it's time to switch things up a little, the cutaway collar shirts are a great choice. What I like about them most is that they're better suited for a wider necktie, compared to traditional collars.
These are by no means run-of-the-mill dress shirts. I was absolutely impressed with the quality and the fit on both designs. I was able to wear these shirts straight out of the packaging without ironing and they complement my body type well. If you've ever experienced a shirt that wrinkles with the slightest of motions and fits like an art smock, you will be thrilled with Charles Tyrwhitt.
In addition to the extra-slim fit I opted for, they also offer classic- and slim-fitting shirts, so no matter what your body type is, they have shirts for you.
