The real reason Dec hasn’t visited Ant in rehab

They are the best of friends, and Dec was quick to publicly support Ant when he spoke out about his drink and substance abuse issues last month.

However he has not seen his best pal since the revelations about his struggle last month.

The Sun claims he has received no visitors in his time there so far – including wife Lisa Armstrong.

“Ant has had no visitors — not even Lisa or Dec,” their source says.

“It was judged best that he battled through this on his own.

“It has been very tough for him, but he really wants to get better and promised to do whatever that takes.

“There is still a way to go, but he is making real progress.”

Meanwhile, Ant has been spotted enjoying days out from his rehab centre.

In pictures posted on The Sun Online, the presenter gives a thumbs up – hopefully an indication that his recovery is going well.

This is the first time the Geordie fave has been seen since he admitted his issues.

The tabloid reports that he has enjoyed walks to the park and trips to the shops after a month of treatment.

An apparent source told them: “He’s doing very well considering everything he’s been through and is happy at being allowed to leave the centre with one of the staff.

“He is in good spirits and on the road to recovery.”

The Sunday Mirror, meanwhile, claims: “Lisa is desperate to see Ant and she is expected to visit him shortly.

“Dec will be also seeing him soon. It’s bound to be emotional but Ant knows that Dec will be there for him every step of the way.”

It is anticipated that the I’m A Celeb host will complete a three-month stint in rehab, as originally planned.
