Chelsea Handler & Tomi Lahren Battle Over Donald Trump's Transgender Military Ban
Chelsea Handler and Tomi Lahren came face to face for their highly anticipated debate during Politicon on Saturday night (July 29) at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, Calif.
The 42-year-old late night talk show host and the 24-year-old Conservative former talk show host sat down during the event to discuss President Donald Trump and his time in office so far.
One of the most heated conversations during the talk came over Trump‘s decision to ban transgender people from joining the military.
Chelsea brought up the fact that much more money is being spent by the military on Viagra and Cialis than on hormone therapy.
“Shouldn’t you be focusing on that?” Chelsea asked. “These people are volunteering to serve our country and it’s not easy for them to even walk out to door.”
“I am not taking away from their bravery, their courage or whatever,” Tomi said. “When it comes to effectiveness on the battlefield, I don’t believe that it is a place for a social experiment. I don’t believe it is a place for feelings.”
“I don’t think it is a social experiment, because the trans community, they are not going away. It is only going to get bigger,” Chelsea said. “This is 2017.”
Despite their heated debates, Chelsea did praise Tomi for accomplishing so much at such a young age, while Tomi said she hopes to follow in Chelsea‘s career path.
