Feedly is easily one of the best and most popular RSS mobile apps. It works like a standard RSS reader. You find a bunch of news sources you like. The app shows all those articles and you read them. It also offers a bunch of other stuff, including cross-platform support, support for third party apps like Evernote, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, IFTTT, and others. The whole thing is free with no in-app purchases. Frankly, this is the one we'd recommend first.

The app is also free with no in-app purchases. It's also open-source.

gReader is a more traditional RSS app. In fact, these days, it's probably the best at being a traditional RSS reader. There isn't much else to say, really. It does sway a bit toward the power user. Those who need it to be really simple may need something else like Flipboard or Feedly. The free version contains advertising. The $4.69 pro version removes the ads. Otherwise both RSS reader apps work more or less the same way.

News Republic is one of the more popular news apps. It works a lot like News360. It has a bunch of news from a bunch of sources. You choose the ones you want and the app ignores everything else. The app does support Facebook and Google sign-in, though, so the process is relatively easy. There is an optional $2.99 per year subscription that adds additional features.
