10 best new Android games from October 2017!
Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you’re a casual gamer or you want something with a beat more meat on its bones, there’s usually a game coming out to suit everyone’s taste. Let’s take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from passed months by clicking here!
Adventures of Baki is a new platformer. It also features some small shooter mechanics as well. The game includes decent graphics, various control schemes, and support for 10 languages. It also boasts a story line, mini quests, and cloud saving. The game is easy enough to play. The eponymous character loses all of its food. The adventure it to recover the food. The story borrows a bit from other popular platformers. However, that doesn't make the game not fun. It's currently free with in-app purchases.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Nintendo's latest big release. In fact, the game already has over five million downloads just a couple of weeks after release. The central mechanic is sim-building. You build up a campsite. From there, animals show up, you can explore things, and various other activities. The reception is very positive so far. However, Nintendo did make this one a freemium game. That may be a dark spot on an otherwise great game release. Most don't seem to mind, though.
Farmer Sim 2018 is the latest farming sim game in the franchise. It plays a lot like last year's game. Some of the improvements include better graphics, more stuff to do, and slightly better controls. The game allows players to build, run, and upgrade a farm. That includes livestock, crops, equipment, and even a career mode. The game has a few bugs as is typical of new releases. However, it is free to download. That way you can see if it works right for you should you want to try it.
Final Fantasy Dimensions II is a unique game. It plays like a freemium, gacha style mobile RPG. However, Square Enix stripped out all of the annoying parts like micro-transactions, any hint of a stamina system, and other such elements. It is honestly weird playing a freemium game with no freemium elements. Aside from that, it features decent, retro-style graphics, a long story, an excellent soundtrack, and more. This is a very polarizing release, but definitely not a bad one.
Love You to Bits is a new indie puzzle game with adventure game and sci-fi elements. The game greets you with simple, colorful graphics. From there, it's all about solving puzzles, finding hidden objects, and progressing through the story. The game seems to have a minor issue with 18:9 devices along with a few other bugs. On the plus side, it only costs $3.99 and has no in-app purchases or advertisements. We hope they clear up the issues sooner rather than later.
Mighty Battles is a new strategy-shooter from Hothead Games. The game is fairly simple. You build an army, attack enemies, and that continues until someone runs out of troops. The game boasts 40 battle units, various special abilities, online multiplayer, clans, special events, and more. That means it ticks off the basic options for a freemium game. That makes sense since it is a freemium game. The freemium elements are a little rougher than average. Those with low tolerances for that kind of stuff will not enjoy this game.
Monument Valley 2 is probably going to be a contender for game of the year. The anticipation was higher than average for a mobile game. The second game plays similarly to the first. It has the same gorgeous puzzles with more-or-less the same play style. There is a second character. That changes how you move through the puzzles. However, it very much feels like an extension of the first one. Like its predecessor, it's also a shorter game that focuses more on experience than difficulty. That may irk some players, but we still think it's worth the $4.99 price of admission.
South Park: Phone Destroyer is the latest TV show themed mobile game. This one features gacha mechanics. Players collect various versions of the various characters. It also includes strategy elements, online PvP, a single player story line, some customizations, and other stuff. Thankfully, it does include the kind of witty banter you expect from a South Park property. However, at the end of the day, it is a freemium game. That doesn't make it bad, but one should adjust one's expectations accordingly.
Undervault is a new dungeon-crawling hack-and-slash game. This one features daily challenges, simple turn by turn combat, mining, RPG style character progression, and more. It is also quite difficult. Players die frequently. The retro graphics are a little rough, even for a retro game. However, the mechanics are stable enough. This one definitely isn't for casual players. Even some more hardcore gamers may find this one a bit rough, but we enjoyed it.
Words With Friends 2 is the third game in the popular word game franchise. No, that is not a typo. This one follows the same Scrabble-style game play as its predecessors. However, it also adds a few new game play modes, challenges, and more. The game also features 50,000 new words that previous games don't have. Otherwise, the experience is basically the same. You take a turn, spell a word, and then your opponent builds a word off of the existing letters on the board. It's a fun game as long as you don't mind it being aimed at casual players.
