White House Tries to Literally Cross Out Trump's Claim He Met the 'President' of the Virgin Islands
President Donald Trump told the Values Voter Summit audience on Friday that he met with the “president of the Virgin Islands.”
There's one little problem with that.
Trump is the president of the Virgin Islands, because the islands are a U.S. territory. That's why they're officially called the Virgin Islands of the United States.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins tweeting out the segment of the official White House transcript from the event. The word “president” is crossed out and replace with “governor."
There's no way to make this stuff up.
In the official transcript, the White House has crossed out the president's comment that he met with the president of the Virgin Islands. http://pic.twitter.com/9NytvbIhoA
