Coronation Street favourite lets slips she’s ‘banned’ from doing Strictly Come Dancing
There are few things in life that couldn’t be improved by an injection of Corrie’s legendary Bev Callard.
Strictly Come Dancing included.
But we won’t be seeing her trip the light fantastic any time soon – due to a stupid rivalry, ITV’s soap stars are not allowed to appear on the BBC.
This seems especially daft, given the likes of Ruth Langsford – a top ITV presenter – is permitted to do the show.
Bev herself dropped this little nugget of nonsense during a chat with Ruth – and husband Eamonn Holmes on This Morning.
When he asked if she’d ever consider doing it, the 60-year-old said: “They won’t let us.”

Indeed, last year, the Daily Star claimed a soap source had explained why cast members are not allowed to do the Saturday night favourite.
“It’s a no-brainer for us,” they said.
“Why would we allow cast members time off to go and film a show for a rival channel?”
Well, we think it’s a bit narrow-sighted on their part… think of the free publicity for their show.
Strictly does love a soap presence in their line-up and so far this year bosses have snaffled up who plays Kush in EastEnders.
And Gemma Atkinson, who until recently played Carly in Emmerdale, has just been confirmed as a contestant today.

Hopefully Corrie will have a change of heart one day – Bev was BORN to do Strictly.
