Ajax’s midfielder, Nouri, suffers serious, permanent brain damage

Abdelhak Nouri has suffered “serious and permanent” brain damage following his collapse over the weekend, his club Ajax said Thursday, dashing earlier hopes the promising prospect would make a quick recovery.

“Ajax are deeply saddened by the news that ‘Appie’ Nouri has been diagnosed with serious and permanent brain damage,” the Amsterdam club said in a tweet.
