Vivo unveils the Vivo V7 with 24 MP camera and bezel-less display
Vivo has announced the Vivo V7 in China. This is virtually the same device as the recently launched Vivo V7 Plus, with only a couple of features separating the V7 from its larger sibling. However, it’s coming with a smaller price tag.
The V7 houses a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display with 18:9 format and 83.6% display-to-body ratio. This arrives in addition to a 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 450 chip — a 14 nm mobile platform new in 2017 — 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space (with microSD card support).
On the rear, you’ll find a 16 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, while at the front comes a 24 MP camera. This features VivoFace Access technology (also seen on V7 Plus) for unlocking the device, as well as Smart Beauty 7.0, which “brightens up selfies and creates a more even complexion,” according to Vivo.
The V7 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with Vivo’s Funtouch 3.2 UI on top.
The V7 Plus, meanwhile, differs in that it comes with a 6-inch display, 64 GB of internal storage space, and a 3,225 mAh battery. As mentioned previously, though, that device costs the equivalent of around $350, while Vivo says the V7 will come in at “around $300.”
The device is going on sale in Indonesia today in Black and Gold but it’s expected to be released in “global markets” in future.
