5 Android apps you shouldn’t miss this week! – Android Apps Weekly

Welcome to the 219th edition of Android Apps Weekly! Here are the big headlines from the last week:

  • There were two big app and game sales this week for Black Friday. The first was Nvidia for their Shield platform. There are dozens of games on sale ranging from AAA titles to indie stuff. That sale lasts until November 27th. Google Play also hosted a large sale with some titles at 80% off. The titles include games, movies, four free months of Google Play Music for new subscribers, and a $5 book credit on purchases of $5 or more. We’re not sure how long that sale lasts so check it out while you can!
  • Tomagotchi is attempting a comeback in the form of a mobile game. The company announced My Tomagotchi Forever this week. Details are a bit scarce right now. However, it should be fairly close to how the original games worked 20 years ago. The game is also probably a freemium game. That’s not great, but we’ll reserve judgement until its release sometime in early 2018.
  • UC Browse returned to the Play Store this week. A rep from the company stated that the removal was due to a setting that wasn’t in line with Google Play policy. They fixed the error and now it’s back. Others theorized it was because of bad marketing tactics and other stuff. However, no one was able to confirm any of those rumors. In any case, it’s back now.
  • Uber managed to have a really bad week. They recently announced a data breach from a while ago. They ended up paying the hackers $100,000USD to keep the hack a secret and delete the data that they stole. The good news is that social security numbers and credits cards weren’t at risk. The bad news is literally everything else. Uber is probably in a bit of hot water for this one.
  • A few decent games were announced this week. The popular indie game Reigns is getting a sequel. That should be out sometime in December 2017. Marvel Strike Force, a new mobile RPG, is slated for release sometime in early 2018. Finally, a sequel to World of Final Fantasy is happening on mobile instead of PS4, PS Vita, and PC like the first one. Japan should see a release by the end of 2017 with a potential worldwide release sometime in 2018.

Unroll.Me isn't a new service. Many people know what it is. However, the Android app version is fairly new. The service unsubscribes you from spam emails very quickly and efficiently. It also helps you manage email subscriptions, provides a daily digest of your email account, and more. This may not be something for everyday use. However, it's definitely something everyone should try at least once. The app is also totally free. There is advertising, but it's not that bad.

DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is the latest official Animal Crossing game for mobile. This one gives you a campsite. You explore the surrounding area, build your campsite, and help all the animals that you can. It also features a crafting system to attract more animals to your campsite. The only real downside is that it's a freemium game. That's not ideal, especially for hardcore fans of the series. However, Nintendo has a good track record with in-app purchases dating back to Fire Emblem: Heroes. They may not be so bad in this one.
