Fall brings with it some exciting changes: cooler temperatures, seasonal beverages, new tech products, and of course, fashion.
With stores introducing soft sweaters, warm coats, and leather boots — not to mention the whirlwind of "fashion month" taking over New York City, Paris, London, and Milan — it's time to start thinking about what's in your closet.
In order to track down the latest trends for this fall and beyond, we asked Pinterest to comb through their user to data to find out what's popular on the platform.
With 200 million active users and counting — the majority of whom are women — Pinterest has a pretty good picture of what women are excited about wearing in October, November, and beyond.
Here are the top 15 trends for women this fall, according to Pinterest:
15. Brocade fabric
PinterestBrocade is a type of patterned woven fabric made from colorful silks and metallic threads. While the fabric can be used on shoes, pants, handbags, and more, Pinterest has seen jackets that use the fabric emerge as a fall trend — searches for brocade are up 37% year over year.
14. 70s plaids

But this fall is seeing a resurgence in 70s plaid, a slightly different take on traditional Tartan. Plaid from the 70s typically has a larger check, or comes in varied colors like rainbow hues or muted fall tones.
Pinterest has seen an uptick in saved pins featuring 70s plaid — they're up 112% year over year.
13. Embroidery
PinterestEmbroidery has been a growing trend for a few seasons, and this fall is no different. The trend includes elaborate floral stitching like the photo above, or a simple phrase sewn onto T-shirts and sweaters.
Pinterest has noticed saved photos of the trend increased 51% since last year.
