The Time Ivanka Trump Humiliated Chris Christie During a Transition Team Meeting

The first daughter reportedly offered Michael Flynn any job he wanted in the White House.

According to a report in The New Yorker, presidential daughter Ivanka Trump reportedly commandeered a Trump transition team meeting from Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) last fall and offered now-disgraced Gen. Michael Flynn any job he wanted in the White House.

Christie headed up the Trump transition team briefly before being booted by Vice President Mike Pence and had balked at giving Flynn a job.

The report notes that Christie held a meeting on Nov. 11, 2016 that was attended by Ivanka Trump along with Flynn and Gen. Keith Kellogg.

“Gentlemen, can I help you?” Christie reportedly asked to which Trump, who served on the transition executive committee, replied that she had invited them. The report states that Trump then took over the meeting and praised Flynn for his “amazing loyalty” to her father before asking, “General, what job do you want?”

According to the New Yorker, one participant described it as, “Princess Ivanka had laid the sword on Flynn’s shoulders and said, ‘Rise and go forth.'”

Christie was deposed as transition head — reportedly because of input from Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner —  and President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Flynn as his National Security adviser a week later — only to have Flynn have to quit after misleading White House officials over his contacts with the Russians.
