Socially responsible investors are making some key mistakes

University of Chicago Booth School of Business professor Luigi Zingales says that one popular approach for socially responsible investing is misguided. He argues that simply avoiding companies you don’t like can be counterproductive. To him, the divesting of socially conscious investors is driving a focus on profitability, while not hurting companies.
