HMD testing Oreo update for Nokia 8, will be released ‘when perfect’
The Nokia 8 was revealed last month with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. We already know that the device will be upgraded to Oreo, as this has been confirmed by the company during the announcement. It now looks like we likely won’t have to wait much longer for the update to be released, based on the images posted on Twitter by HMD’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas.

He posted two images of the Nokia 8 that’s just one tap away from getting upgraded to the beta version of Android Oreo. The changelog doesn’t list any of the features the update has on board but does reveal its size — 1.3 GB.

Unfortunately, Sarvikas did not mention when exactly will the update be released, but we probably won’t have to wait long based on the fact the beta version is already being tested. The flagship won’t be the only Nokia smartphone to get bumped up to Oreo, as the company has confirmed that the rest of its lineup will also get the latest version of Google’s OS.
The Nokia 8 is already available in a few markets including the UK, where it retails for £499.99 without a contract — around $680. It is expected to make its way to a few more countries over the next couple of weeks.
