Strictly Come Dancing confirms EastEnders hunk Davood Ghadami as second celeb contestant

Ladies rejoice! The heartthrob from EastEnders who we know as Kush Kazemi has been confirmed as the second celebrity contestant to take part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The actor, Davood Ghadami, will be getting his dancing shoes on (and hopefully a little sequined number) to compete against fellow celebrities including The Saturdays’ Mollie King who was confirmed as a contestant yesterday.

Davood said in a statement released by the BBC that it was “such an honour” to be invited on the show. He said: “It’s going to be exciting, challenging and terrifying all at once and I am so looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to dance.”

There’s no doubt that many women will tune into the show to see the the chiselled actor strutting his stuff. A TV source told The Sun: “Producers are keen for him to get his kit off and get the audience’s pulses racing a bit.”

The source also said: “Davood is this year’s heartthrob and bosses are delighted he’s signed up. Soap stars, particularly from EastEnders, have done really well on the show previously.”

Other EastEnders stars have taken part in the competition including Tameka Empson, who plays the hilarious Kim Fox on the soap, who was on the show last year. In 2015 Kellie Bright, who plays Mick Carter’s wife Linda, dazzled viewers with her moves on the dance floor.

The 35-year-old actor is popular with the telly-watching members of the nation, as he won best newcomer at the TV Choice awards in 2015. He entered the soap in 2014 and has since had some meaty storylines to get his teeth into.

He plays a gym-loving market trader who has had his fair share of romance woes, but seems to have finally settled down with Denise Fox (we’ll see how long that lasts!). The Kazemi family are relatively new to the square in the grand scheme of things but have become well-loved thanks to their genuinely lovely nature.

Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi plays Kush’s younger brother and the matriarch of the family, Carmel, is a strong character who gets herself in hot water every now and then. In the current storyline she is being romantically used by Max Branning who clearly has an ulterior motive up his sleeve.

Strictly will reveal its third contestant soon, hopefully in the next couple of days, and those who are rumoured to be taking part include Samantha Womack, Anne Robinson and Olly Murs.

It was announced yesterday that singer Mollie King will be on Strictly, on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio One breakfast show. TV presenter and comedian Brian Conley is also confirmed as a contestant.

Mollie said to Nick: “I’m a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing so I can’t actually believe I’m lucky enough to be taking part in it this year!

“I’m literally so excited to learn Latin and ballroom dancing, and of course I can’t wait to get into the sequins too!

“It’s going to be a lot of hard work but I’m ready for the challenge!”
