Samsung Galaxy S8 Active accidentally confirmed by AT&T?

It was already looking pretty likely that Samsung would introduce Galaxy Active device. Between the real-life photos and videos and the Evan Blass-leaked renders, there was little doubt that the phone would be coming soon. According to recent information, it appears that the Galaxy S8 Active has also been confirmed by AT&T — although the reveal might not have been planned.

AT&T is currently running a promotion alongside Samsung, which can save you $500 on a new Samsung TV when you switch to DIRECTV and buy a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus handset on AT&T Next. While only those two smartphones are currently listed as part of the offer, the folks at XDA Developers spotted that this wasn’t always the case.

The Galaxy S8 Active made a brief appearance in the FAQ section as an eligible device, though it appears that AT&T has since removed the mention. Perhaps, the rugged handset will indeed be part of the offer when it releases, however, which would give us a little insight as to when we might see it hit the shelves.

AT&T’s promo will end on August 31, which means that if the new rugged Galaxy wants to take part in it, it will have to make a debut before the end of the month. So, if you’re in the market for a rugged flagship, you might not have long to wait for it.
