Luis Fonsi Says 'Despacito' Follow-Up Is 'Really Special' Collaboration!
Luis Fonsi‘s “Despacito,” the biggest Spanish-language hit on the Billboard Hot 100 since “Macarena,” is just two weeks shy of tying the record for the all-time longest running #1 hit: “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men – but what’s set to come after it?
“[We've got something] really special planned. We just confirmed [it]…yesterday!” the 39-year-old singer told ABC Radio ahead of his appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday (August 16) in New York City. “And it hasn’t been recorded, so I’m a firm believer of, until it’s done, let’s not over-celebrate it. But I’m really excited, ’cause it’s a really cool collaboration, and it’s an amazing song.”
“[It] finally got to No. 1 and it’s been there for 14 weeks and it’s just a blessing,” Luis said on GMA. “It’s been a huge surprise…I’m just so honored that the world has connected to the song, a Spanish song, to see all of these beautiful countries singing in Spanish.”
