Don Lemon Threatens to Ban Republican Congressman if He Won't Stop Parroting Trump's Lies
"Jack, I love having you but I can’t let you come here if you won’t tell the truth." Those were the damning words CNN anchor Don Lemon said at the end of a panel discussion with Republican Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA).
Kingston made a fool of himself by repeating inaccurate talking points disseminated from President Donald Trump's White House.
First, Kingston made a bizarre claim about Trump prosecuting the "largest group of white supremacists in history." When challenged, Kingston seemingly had no idea what he was referencing. Multiple panelists were genuinely confused as Kingston tried to claim the nonexistent prosecution happened "under" Trump.
“I’m not sure of the details, but I know that I was looking at that,” Kingston fumbled. Lemon burst out laughing.
Despite the mocking he endured, Kingston told another whopper that Hillary Clinton started the birther movement. Lemon immediately shut him up.
"I don’t want lies repeated and people believing untruths on this show. I will not be a purveyor of fake news,” Lemon said at the segment's conclusion and implied that Kingston would be disinvited from future appearances unless he stops lying.
