Ashley Graham Couldn't Get a Designer to Dress Her for the Met Gala

Ashley Graham may have looked stunning at this year’s Met Gala but she couldn’t get anyone to dress her the year before!

The 29-year-old model recently explained that she had been “on hold,” a prelude to an invitation, for the event in 2016.

“I couldn’t get a designer to dress me. You can’t just show up in jeans and a T-shirt,” she told The Cut.

Ashley went on to explain that at the time she didn’t have the right designer relationships and there wasn’t enough time to get a custom gown.

Thankfully the following year, Ashley was dressed in a stunning couture gown from H&M and had an incredible time.

She added, “Rihanna said I looked ‘hot as f**k.’ I had no idea what to say to her. I was just like, ‘You slay every Met, Rihanna!’”
