Android 8.0 Oreo OTA has started rolling out to Pixel and Nexus users, factory images too!

Less than an hour ago, Google formally took the veil off of Android 8.0 Oreo stating that OTAs would be hitting “soon”. It was unclear if the soon meant today, tomorrow, or three weeks from now. The good news is that the wait doesn’t appear to me a long one.

Several of Android Authority’s team members have already received the OTA, though it’s worth noting that a few of us ran into installation problems, though at such a small scale, it’s probably just a few unlucky among us and not indicative of any problems. Compared to the earlier Developer Previews, not much appears to be new here at first look, but we’ll be diving into things a bit deeper in the coming days and will hopefully uncover at least a few new goodies.

If you don’t want to wait for the OTA to hit your specific device, you can also now download the factory update. While the ‘commercial’  factory images page appears to still be on Nougat, the developer’s portal has been updated to the latest, final version.
