Lagos State Security Trust Fund and the Nigerian Ports Authority have struck partnership to address security challenge in the state.
The NPA also expressed readiness to work with the government in solving the gridlock in the Apapa area of the state to ensure ease of doing business.
The Managing Director, NPA, Ms Hadiza Usman, in a visit to the LSSTF’s office in Alausa, Ikeja said the collaboration would be of immense economic benefit to the state and the country at large, a statement said on Monday.
He said, “I also assure you of our commitment to collaborate with the fund in areas where the support is necessary to improve on the challenge of insecurity and traffic management around Apapa Port.”
The LSSTF Executive Secretary, Dr Abdurrazaq Balogun, said the visit was to rekindle the existing partnership between the NPA and the fund, adding that the LSSTF, more than ever before, needed support to help security agencies adequately combat crime in the state.
“As we all know, the wellbeing and security of the people of a state is the responsibility of the state government and that is why the Lagos State Government has made giant strides to see that this is put in place. Today, the state government is the fund’s biggest donor,” he added.
