LG boss threatens to sue parents who failed to present children for immunisation

The Chairman, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu, on Monday vowed to punish parents who refused to present their children for polio vaccination in the area.

He said this after a meeting with immunisation officials at the council secretariat in Gwagwalada.

Adamu said the council would use legal means to deal with such parents, describing them as enemies of the nation.

“Saving the lives of our children from polio is saving the future leaders of this nation.

“Anybody found wanting will be dealt with, the future of this nation is in the hands of the younger ones,” he said.

The chairman, who monitored the exercise for the ongoing immunisation, described it as a huge success.

Adamu promised that his administration would ensure that the area was polio free.

Stakeholders have embarked on series of meeting since the beginning of the exercise to proffer solutions to the challenges being faced by the polio officials on the field.
