An online platform that will enable motorists to locate competent mechanics that specialise in different vehicle brands within their vicinity has been introduced.

Mecofinder is an app just unveiled by a group of young graduates in Lagos that can be accessed by vehicle owners/drivers to connect with nearby registered mechanics for prompt fixing of their automobiles when they experience sudden breakdown.

Speaking at the launch of the app in Lagos, the Director of Business Development, Kodzone Technologies Limited, Mr. Olu Omoyeni, said the idea was to remove the frustration faced by motorists when their vehicles suddenly break down and the attendant loss of man-hours that followed the search for reliable auto technicians.

According to him, the group is working with a number of professional associations connected with the vehicle repairs and allied matters including the Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association to ensure that only competent and trustworthy people were enlisted and registered for the project.

Omoyeni, who spoke along with heads of different sections of the project, such as Damilare Adekeye and Kehinde Adekeye, said the group was working with some other firms providing technical assistance for the scheme.

He added that about 14 different categories of skilled workers connected with the repair/towing of vehicles would be available to people on the platform for consultation.
