This was made known by the commander, on Tuesday at an event to mark the 2017 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The theme for this year’s commemoration is ‘Listen First: Listening to Children and Youths is the First Step to Help them Grow Healthy and Safe’.
He also said that the command, within the period, seized 356kg of illicit drugs and prosecuted 76 persons.
“The state government had been a pillar in the fight against illicit drugs and trafficking because the governor is interested in the youths.”
The commander said that the zonal office had enjoyed the goodwill and support of the state government.
Ohanyere said that the agency would continue to sensitize members of the public on the effects of illicit drugs in line with UN regulations and policies of the Federal Government.
In a keynote address, the Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecelia Ezeilo, said that drug trafficking and abuse were among the most dangerous threats to the society.

Meanwhile, Dr Ujunwa Nduanya, the Registrar, Psychological Medicine, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), said in a lecture, that the dearth of rehababilitation centres for addicts was the bane of the fight.
