Samorost 3 is an adventure puzzle game surrounding a gnome and his magic flute. Botanicula is about a group bugs trying to save their tree’s seed from bad guys. They all have a similar feel to their mechanics. They’re also all pay-once games.

It has a lot of game elements, including crafting, combat, RPG-style character leveling, and you can even tame creatures to fight for your side. It’s a deep game with a ton of content that you can play on both mobile and PC. It’s 4.8 rating on Google Play is accurate.

Each game has unique mechanics from the game series it came from. Hitman GO has more guns. Lara Croft GO takes place in an ancient ruin. You can’t go wrong with any of these adventure games.

It’s a difficult game and one that will have you scratching your head and thinking tactically in order to survive. The game also comes with 59 achievements, a leaderboard, over 350 decisions that you’ll have to make, a crafting system, and, oddly, no combat. It’s one of the better adventure games out there.

Rockstar has a bunch of excellent adventure games. There are currently three Grand Theft Auto ports, two mobile Grand Theft Auto titles, and Bully. All these games have a similar premise. You’ll get to explore an open world. There is a story line to follow and plenty of side quests to do. The controls can be a little frustrating from time to time. However, they work mostly well. The GTA games are mostly about crime. Bully is mostly about high school. All of the games cost either $4.99 or $6.99 with no in-app purchases.

Cube Escape is a series of mystery-adventure games where you must solve puzzles to find out what’s really going on. The mechanics are fairly simple and each game has you solving a variety of puzzles in order to progress in the story. It’s technically they are escape games which means the majority of the time you’ll be solving puzzles. Still, it’s an excellent series of games and all of them are free with no in-app purchases making them the cheapest adventure games you can get.

Secret of Mana

Secret of Mana is an action-RPG style game. It first hit store shelves in the 1990’s. It’s known for being easily accessible by both beginners and experts in the genre and employs a unique menu system, touch controls that are well done, and a pretty decent storyline. The premise is that you and your friends will battle the empire for control of the all powerful Mana. It’s a fun little game although it does run a little bit expensive. Square Enix has re-released a lot of their earlier titles and most of them make for excellent adventure games.

Each game has puzzle and adventure elements with fleshed out storylines and decent graphics. They’re all fairly excellent adventure games and worth a download.

In this, you play as a group of war survivors inside of a city currently being occupied by the enemy. The game’s hallmark feel is that it’s not necessarily fun, but it’s really interesting and it’s a game you’ll likely want to replay to see if you can do things differently. It’s expensive, but worth it. It is that good.

There is no combat or anything like that. Just you, some memories, and some puzzles to solve. It runs for $4.99 with no in-app purchases.

Ys Chronicles II

In the second game, the story continues further. That means you’ll definitely need to start with the first one. The mechanics work extremely well on a touch screen and they’re relatively inexpensive. DotEmu has a bunch of other excellent console ports.
