14-year-old daughter mobilises support for dad in Anambra gov poll

Ahead of the July 22 governorship party primary of the Progressives Peoples Alliance in Anambra State, a 14-year old daughter of an aspirant, Miss Kelechi Ezeemo has begun mobilisation of the youth in the area to support her father, Godwin Ezeemo, in the race.

Kelechi who described his father as a good man and a philanthropist said she would want her father to be the governor of the state so that greater number of the people of the state would reap from his kind disposition.

She said, “I’m excited that my father has achieved greatness. We’re lacking nothing. We’re born with even golden spoon in our mouth. We’re comfortable.

‘My father is rich and he is a good man in every definition of it. I would want our people to vote for him and see the difference.

“My father is a truthful person; he is a kind man. My father is an achiever. Let the people of this state try him and see the comfort they will get.

“My father has done so well for many people in this state and beyond but he needs a bigger platform to expand and extend his goodness to greater number of people.

“I don’t want the people of this state to miss this opportunity; that’s why I’m out to mobilise the young people of this state for my father’s victory in November 18 poll.”

Kelechi who spoke with our correspondent on Saturday said she would stop at nothing in ensuring that “Anambra gets it right this time”.
Ezeemo’s PPA has fixed July 22, for the conduct of its governorship party primary in the state.

The National Chairman of PPA, Prof. Peter Ameh, disclosed this when Ezeemo picked the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms.

He said the factors that had made the party to win elections in the past were because the party had fielded “impeccable characters, that can prevent corruption, that can stand in the face of any intimidation to protect the will of the people at all cost. I find those qualities in Godwin Ezeemo.”

Responding, Ezeemo said if voted to power his administration would give priority to children and women’s welfare.

He said, “Anambra children have been suffering. I can tell you that over 40 percent of them don’t go to school because their parents don’t have the money to sponsor them.

“Early in the morning, they will be given a tray of groundnuts or pure water to hawk. They have been denied; I will comfort them”.
